Australian businesses will be able to access the latest business guides about the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) from today and keep up to date with the law.
Business and professional organisations are strongly encouraged to familiarise themselves with the content of the guides, and to promote the guides to their members. The suite of guides covers the broader provisions and principles within the ACL:
- Consumer guarantees
- Unfair contract terms
- Product safety
- Sales practices
- Avoiding unfair business practices
The guides were launched nationally on 22nd April 2016 and provide an updated resource for business operators and professional business advisors. The ACL has now operated since 2011 and the guides incorporate the outcomes from significant legal cases undertaken over the previous four years.
The updated guides are an informative resource that will assist and support business to operate within the law.
